Tucked away at 223 High Street, Northcote, Tahina has been serving up fresh, flavour-packed Israeli-inspired vegetarian street food since 2015. Owners Roy and Natalie built Tahina from a simple idea—when they moved to the area, they couldn’t find Middle Eastern vegetarian food that matched what they loved. So, they created it themselves.
With a menu that has stood the test of time, Tahina keeps things simple: vegetarian and vegan-friendly, gluten-free options, and everything made fresh in-house. The red and green falafels are the stars of the show, and regulars keep coming back for the dishes they know and love. It’s food that’s comforting, bold, and full of flavour—just how it should be.
For those wanting a little piece of Tahina at home, pre-frozen falafels are available to purchase in-store and online, along with house-made Caramelised Onion Jam, Fresh Zhoug, and Spiced Tomato Jam.
Tahina has become a Northcote Rise institution, with loyal locals and visitors from beyond High Street drawn to its honest, delicious food. Open seven days a week from 11am to 9pm, it’s the perfect spot for a quick bite or a laid-back feast.
