Trader Spotlight: Pizza E Vino
Pizza E Vino – 232 High Street, Northcote
Fourteen years in the same spot. But Enzo’s story began long before that.
In 1980, Enzo and his brother opened Uglies in Preston — a restaurant that became a true local institution for 17 years. Today, many of those original Uglies customers now call Pizza E Vino home. They’ve followed Enzo from Preston to Northcote — and now bring their children and grandchildren with them.
This is old-school hospitality at its best. Real conversations. Remembered names. Recipes that haven’t changed — including the Parma his mum used to make. The pizzas are large, hand-stretched and generously topped — classic, traditional and made to be shared. No gimmicks. Just quality ingredients, consistency and pride in every plate.
There’s a deep respect for craft here. A 4.8 rating built on decades of experience, not trends. Many dishes trace back to family masterclasses at his mum’s kitchen table — proper home-style cooking, done with heart.
Staff start young and stay for years. Families celebrate milestones here. Regulars return with their kids — and their kids’ kids.
Warm, welcoming and proudly authentic — a Northcote staple with deep roots and a community that keeps coming back for more.
