Opened in early January, Goodwater at 300 High Street, Northcote is the ultimate destination in Melbourne for American whiskey lovers. It’s a whiskey bar, that you don’t necessarily have to drink whiskey in, at Goodwater, there’s so much more on offer.
Owned by a group of friends who share a passion for fun and inclusive hospitality, Goodwater is all about quality drinks and good food in a warm, welcoming environment.
Specialising in American whiskey, they boast an impressive collection of over 300 bottles, carefully curated over 7 years from heritage distilleries in the US. Some of these rare finds aren’t available anywhere else! From big-name distilleries to unique craft producers, there’s something truly special for every whiskey lover. And with their half-pour option, you can make the most of your whiskey sampling adventure.
In saying that, there’s plenty of other less serious options like $10 schooners of lager, wine by the carafe and well crafted approachable cocktails. So whether you’re stopping by for a quick wine or beer after work, enjoying cocktails and snacks with friends before a gig, or diving into a whiskey discovery session, Goodwater has you covered until late.
But it’s not just about the drinks—Goodwater’s kitchen is open as long as the bar is, even late into the night. Coming up on 25th August is a casual American whiskey tasting afternoon with the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. $35 gets you 4 whiskies and light snacks. Tickets are available on their website.
