Previously known as the Commercial Hotel, the Northcote Social Club has been a cornerstone of the Northcote Rise community for over 20 years. Despite a few cosmetic changes, it has retained its beloved old Melbourne pub vibe, thanks to its loyal punters, dedicated staff, and supportive community.
With approximately 40 staff members, NSC prides itself on being a safe, inclusive, and kid-friendly space, featuring an inviting front bar, band room, heated courtyard for those chilly winter night and sunny deck space in the warmer months.
The team at NSC take pride in being part of Melbourne’s best street for live music. Over the years, they’ve had incredible highlights like secret shows by Lady Gaga and The Pixies and witnessing Courtney Barnett’s journey from bar staff to international music icon.
The NSC not only excels in live music but also offers a fantastic food menu and fun nights out. Favourites include their famous Parma, Thursday Steak Nights, Sunday Roasts, and a $20 lunch and drink deal during the week.
