Trader Spotlight: Dojo Ramen
Dojo Ramen, located at 333 High Street Northcote, has been serving up authentic Japanese soul food for 11 years and has become a beloved fixture on Northcote Rise.
The story of Dojo Ramen begins when owners Tom and Junko met in Melbourne and then moved to Japan to get married. Together they further developed a deep appreciation for traditional ramen and realised there was a gap in Melbourne’s food scene for this comforting dish.
A year before they moved back to Melbourne, a chance conversation led them to meet a ramen master in the backstreets of Tokyo, and from there, the idea for Dojo Ramen was born.
Junko is the Operations Manager and has created an incredible menu that has led to their ramen being a staple in the local community. The Shoyu and Tan Tan Men being two of the most popular dishes.
Their menu is extensive, offering something for all tastes and dietary preferences, including a variety of share plates and vegan and vegetarian options.. Dojo Ramen recently expanded their offerings to include sushi and sashimi, and they’ve now opened for lunch during the week, just in time for the warmer months.
The inviting space is modelled after Tokyo ramen bars, and the back beer deck is perfect for relaxed days and nights out.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Dojo Ramen is a must-visit on Northcote Rise!
